Hi. As a urologist, I've treated thousands of kidney stone patients. Every single day, I see and hear about how painful kidney stones are. Worst pain in their life. Worse than childbirth.
I can empathize because my wife gets kidney stones too. Trips to the emergency room. Anxiety about having an attack on an airplane. Now, my wife is a pretty smart cookie. She's a Stanford physician. Also as the wife of a urologist, you would think that of all people, she would be successful in staying stone free. Unfortunately not. During a San Francisco Giants baseball game as she was throwing up from the pain of a kidney stone attack, I came to a realization. People struggle with a kidney stone friendly diet due to a lack of knowledge or in my wife's case, building the daily diet and water habits that prevent stones.
The pain points that kidney stone sufferers face are uncertainty about what to eat, conflicting dietary advice, and fear of recurrence.
There isn't an easy way to analyze and track the dietary factors that contribute to kidney stones, like oxalates. Calcium oxalate stones make up almost 80% of the stones people get. Yet most people have little clue how much oxalates foods contain. Spinach and nuts are healthy right? Yes, but they sure are bad for kidney stones formers.
So that's why I built StoneFree AI. Our mission is to help people know exactly what to eat and avoid with AI-driven meal analysis so that they can stay pain-free and confident in their diet.
